Let us introduce you to the art of Rug Tufting with our GET TUFT beginners workshop!
This class is suitable for the absolute beginner. No previous skills are required, simply bring your creativity and we will teach you the rest.
We welcome individuals to come and learn a new skill, and further develop existing ones during this full-day creative experience.
This workshop covers the basics of rug making, how to operate a power tufting machine, an overview of trimming your tufted pieces and the various finishing processes.
You’ll gain knowledge on the different styles of rug tufting and what you'll require to set up your own tufting rig at home. By the end of this one day course, you will have journeyed through from the design stage, to final product. You will take home your very own tufted mini rug or wall hanging.
Our workshops are based on skill, size and time:
-Beginners/ introduction: You will be working on a 80x80cm frame over a 6 hr day.
This course is fun and experimental, whilst being practical and foundational.
For those looking to learn more and further develop their rug making skills.
You will have access to everything you need to create your very own masterpiece.
We strongly encourage you to explore what you want to create before the workshop. As the possibilities and colours are endless, we suggest you keep your design simple and to a maximum of 5 colours.
If you have particular colours in mind, please let us know so we can make them available for you.
